here and now*

Hello everyone. I know that it has been ages since my last post, but that just goes to show how busy life gets towards the end of the year. This week it is a month since we arrived at our new home in Cape Town. It is really scary to think that time can go so fast. We have been living like real tourists for the month - exploring our new city etc. I still do not have a job, but I am being prayerful about where God wants me to be and what I need to be doing.

My mom, sister, gran and grampa visited 2 weeks ago and we had such a blast. We discovered a R12 breakfast  at Beleza in Tamboerskloof. We visited the Old Biscuit Mill, Camps Bay Beach, Sinnfull Ice cream, Eastern Food Bizarre, Ice skating etc. It was great.

We are learning to find our way around the City without our GPS, which is a huge accomplishment in our eyes! I have found the most awesome shops and little home decor places. So all in all, this has been a good month. We have been blessed with friends and blessed with too much furniture :D

Today*

Today is about waiting... I am trying to be patient, but that does not always work out so well.

1. I am waiting to hear about the job that I was interviewed for.
2. Waiting to hear if we have been accepted as tentants for a beautiful flat in Cape Town.
3. Waiting for the sun to come out
4. Waiting for December, which will hopefully mean that I can have a summer holiday...

I know these all seem like things that are easy to wait for and yes, there is nothing I can do but wait - but that is the annoying part... I just have to sit around and wait... Hoping for only good news and sunshine.

But that is the beauty of it too! Not being in control, not having the ability to change circumstance. God is so good and it is awesome to know that He is in control. I don't have to worry about anything. This does not make the waiting any less annoying, but it does make it a lot more peaceful.

I know that there is an adventure ahead of me, but all I can do for now, is live today, loving God and all the special people in my life!

That's a blessing in itself...

Anyway, enough with the serious stuff... :)

I have some more pictures of decor ideas that I want to share with everyone... I really am slightly obsessed... but it's so fun and I enjoy being creative, so I am not going to stop...  Here are some pics that I love!!!

First time*

So this is my first entry and I am completely new to this whole blogging thing.
I don't exactly have any words of wisdom or particular importance to share, but I do enjoy writing and I figured that this is a good way to get all of my excitement out of my system...

At the moment life is both exciting and scary... A lot is about to change and that is scary, but it is also exciting...
I am moving to Cape Town in January and so I get to think of all these awesome things that I get to do...
I am going to start a new job (I hope) and I am going to have to find my way around a BIG city (Scary) and I am going to be able to decorate a new home for David and I (Super Exciting)... BUT - I have to leave all my awesome friends, family and church family here... I am moving 1000km's away... that is not exactly just down the road.

Anyway, the purpose of this blog from now on will be to serve as an outlet for my writing and other stuff that is floating around in my head... For example - at the moment, I am obsessed with decor and how I am going to make our Cape Town flat look when we get there, and if I don't get it out of my system, I think I am going to drive my husband insane. Poor guy...

P.s I will be back soon, I hope. If I don't forget my password and the fact that I have actually started a blog... :)

And as gossip girl would say...
